cable knit cardigan playlist
I was listening to my usual autumnal playlist “Practical Magic & Blackbird House,” when I thought it sounded too early autumnal rather than late autumnal. As it is now the end of November, I am feeling more and more like Chris Evans in Knives Out, whose cream cable knit sweater I envy, so I made a playlist for that vibe. In fact, I love Knives Out so much it has heavily influenced my listening this fall and winter.
No seasonal vibes playlist is complete without Taylor Swift. Folklore, to me, is a quintessential sweater weather album, despite having been released in the middle of summer. Its entire vibe is wrapping yourself in a blanket with a hot drink, so of course, I chose “cardigan” for this playlist, as well as “Back to December,” and “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version).”
I also associate late fall and early winter with an end-of-semester slump in school. Melanie Martinez’s album K-12 is school-themed, and “Detention” fits the vibe of seasonal depression meets finals crunch.
I hope you can smell the evergreen pine forest covered in frost through this playlist.
